Research suggests that curcumin modifies eicosanoid biosynthesis, a natural process that’s directly involved in inflammation. It specifically affects the synthesis of thromboxanes, which are a type of eicosanoid that play a central role in clot formation, according to research out of Odense University’s Department of Environmental Medicine in Denmark.
